It would have been better if something soft had been put under the balloon. he jumped not because of the pressure, but because of the rough surface. It probably could have swelled up a lot bigger before it actually exploded.

What a great troubleshooting idea if you don't have an air compressor if you want to inflate birthday balloons quickly. Just make sure there is good ventilation in the room and have a good party!
